The Rake

Recently while emailing back and forth with a great friend who is also in the clothing business we were talking Italian dress and elegance and we came across a publication that, surprisingly, I had never seen before called "The Rake." After reading some of the online articles about some of the most stylish brands (Brioni, Ferragamo, Hermes) and people (Gianni Agnelli, Errol Flynn, James Bond) that I hold in high esteem, I decide that I had to have this magazine. Only one problem.... It is not distributed in the US. So I decided to pull the trigger pay the price for a subscription delivered by courier. Finally it has come in and it did not disappoint. If you are even remotely in to clothing, style or just the finer things in life this is a MUST READ! This is the finest publication both in quality of content and quality of production that I have ever seen. Self labeled "The modern voice of classic elegance" it is, in my opinion, exactly that. I have always been a fan of the obvious mags such as Esquire, GQ, Robb Report and etc. but by the time you weed through all of the horrible advertising, pornography, and political rhetoric those magazines offer little to no sartorial inspiration anymore. I am glad that the Brits have produced such an elegant and gentlemanly publication that actually has REAL style substance and inspiration. If you would rather not fork over the $150 bones to read the six issues per year you can always come to Baumans, sit down, have a cup of Silver Joe's coffee and read ours. As always we would love to have you. To put it in the words of Christian Barker (editor - in -chief of The Rake).... Be Rakish.

Ciao,

Donny Hubbard
